Walk by Faith, Not by Emotions
For we walk by faith, not by sight. {2 Corinthians 5:7}
Have you ever tried to get around your house at night without turning on the lights? I usually end up with a stubbed toe and knocking stuff over. Thankfully walking by faith does not come with the same risks as my midnight jaunt to the bathroom, for I am walking with the the Good Shepherd and He knows the way! What better place could there be than walking with the Father where He leads?
For me, the battle is to walk by faith and not by
When I find myself in the place of overwhelming darkness, wanting to push everyone away and give up, I pray Romans 15:13. I lay those false misleading emotions at His feet and surrender to the Father. How sweet that He loves us so and never tires of us laying the same burdens at His feet over and over! He still draws me close, holds me tight, and soothes my soul in the way only He can!
It wasn't easy at first. It still isn't at times. But easy or hard doesn't matter - all that matters is walking by faith following in the steps of my Father! And I have learned through experience that as I continue to seek the Father, walking closer with Him, that walking by faith become easier! Not necessarily easy, but easier because I know that the Father will bring me safely through as He has done numerous times in the past. The only risk involved by walking in faith is that of falling even more in love with the Lord as He demonstrates His faithfulness over and again! Let the Father lead and walk with Him in faith. It isn't easy, but it is so worth it!
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him,
so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
{Romans 15:13}
