Ache

Pain fills my soul;
Tears course my face.
In the depths of my ache,
My heart drowns.

Abandoned by friends;
Family deserted me.
Who remains,
but You, oh Lord?

You sent creatures to comfort me,
But like Jonah of old,
They too are now gone
And I am alone.

Rescue me
Before I am swallowed alive.
Save me from the pit of despair.
Draw me close.

Left alone,
The silence and pain overwhelms.
Oh for even a fly
To keep me company

Lord hear my cries;
Show mercy to your servant.
How I long after You
For You alone can comfort

My soul is heavy
My heart rent
Tears spent
Exhausted I fall

Hear me calling out, oh Lord
Comfort your servant in her days of need
Pull me from the abyss
That I might once more sing your praise.

To my knees I fall
Crying out your name, oh God
For You alone have the power to save
You alone can heal

Come swiftly my King,
I thirst for your presence
Delay not in coming
Day and night I cry out to You

I long for the day
You will bring me home
For You alone are with me
You alone hold me and comfort me,
My King, My God
Rescue me, for I am yours
Save me, oh my Redeemer
Draw me close, Father God
That I might rest at your feet
