Heaven is where my heart is
Lord, how my heart longs for You,
for You to hide me in Your heart.
May I dwell in your house forever,
follow You all the days of my life.
Mold my heart after yours,
Fill me with your love for others,
Draw me ever closer to You,
Help me to walk in your footsteps.
My heart overflows with love for You!
I long for your presence,
To see your face,
to hide your words in my heart.
Each day brings me closer to You,
This is not my home,
My place is with You,
Praising You all of my days!
Give me strength to endure life here,
To walk the path You have for me,
Knowing that at the end of my journey,
You are waiting to welcome me home
Oh Lord, my heart longs after You,
Waiting for You to hold me in your arms,
To hear, Well done faithful servant, You are much loved
Welcome home
These words were inspired by the song Homesick, by MercyMe. Reminding me that each day brings me closer to Jesus. My time here on Earth is temporary. This is not my home. My place is following the path and plan God has for my life until that time I return home to heaven. As much heartache and hurt I have endured, this is temporary. Once I reach heaven, the time with my Savior will be infinite. No tears, no hurt, no pain in heaven. God gives me the strength to persevere through my time here on Earth, and the hope of eternal life with Him. All that I have, all that I am, belongs to my Jesus.
